Who can register for YMAU IV?

All university students as well as high school students over the age of 16. 

How much is the conference fee?

$100: September 28th, 2025 - October 31st, 2025

$125: November 1st, 2025 - December 31st, 2025

$150: January 1st, 2026 - February 1st, 2026 

All prices are in USD. Conference fees must be paid by February 15th, 2026 at 11:59 PM EST.

Should I register as a delegation or an individual?

If you are attending YMAU with other students or colleagues from the same institution, you are encouraged to apply as a delegation. A delegation must consist of at least 5 and no more than 10 members. Your group should designate a delegation lead, who will create a registration account and submit the name, email, and age of each participating student from your institution.

If you are the sole representative from your institution, please apply as an individual delegate.

Am I required to have an advisor?

If you are under the age of 18, you are required to have an advisor. An advisor is a teacher, parent, or other trusted guardian who will supervise your time at YMAU. If you are applying as a delegation, and one or more members of your delegation is under the age of 18, you must bring one advisor for the whole group. If you are applying as an individual, you must bring one advisor.

Individual applicants over the age of 18 and delegations consisting only of students over the age of 18 are not required to bring an advisor. 

Who qualifies as a delegation leader?

If you are required to bring an advisor to YMAU, your advisor should serve as the delegation leader in your registration account. 

Delegations of students over the age of 18 can choose you Model UN club’s head delegate or any other student to serve as the delegation leader. If you are applying as an individual and are over the age of 18, you may serve as your own delegation leader. 

Am I registered for YMAU IV if I have not paid the conference fee?

No, you are not officially registered for YMAU until you have paid your conference fee in its entirety. To check if you have paid off your balance, visit the “fees” tab of your registration account.

Financial Aid FAQs

How do I apply for financial aid?

The link to the financial aid application is located in the “Fees” tab of your registration account. Applications will open on October 15, 2025.

When is the deadline to apply for financial aid?

January 1st, 2026; all financial aid award decisions will be sent out on January 15th, 2026. Please apply well before the deadline for maximum funding consideration. 

How is financial aid allocated?

Financial aid awards are distributed on the basis of merit and demonstrated need. Demonstrated need will be evaluated from your responses in the financial aid application.

What does my financial aid package include?

Financial aid can cover delegate fees, flights to and from Accra, transportation during the conference, visa fees, accommodations, and non-inclusive meals.

When will I hear back about my financial aid application?

All financial aid decisions will be sent by January 15th at 11:59 PM EST.

What do I do after I receive my financial aid decision?

If you are offered financial aid, you will have the option to either accept or decline the award. You will have 48 hours after January 15th to inform us of your decision. For recipients who do not receive full financial aid, registration will only be confirmed once all remaining conference fees are paid. If you choose to decline your financial aid award and do not pay the remaining balance, your registration for the conference will not be finalized.

All payments made after financial aid decisions are released will be processed according to your applicable registration cycle (Early, Regular, or Late).

Will I have to pay for food while attending YMAU IV?

Lunch will be provided to all delegates during each day of the conference.
